Lakeside Match!

While i was at lakeside match!

and i thought of a brilliant idea.
i had position the all the seniors

Another Shoot at Alki with Taylor Brenner

This weekend has been a pretty busy weekend, shooting on Saturday and now another shoot on sunday! it needs to be like this every day! it will be soon ;)

Sunday's shoot was at alki again. Saturdays shoot was at the alki tavern!
Anyways today i had a client that need some senior portraits and she want to take it at alki so i knew where to take her exactly i took her to my favorite spot of alki theses two benches that has the whole Seattle skyline view. you couldn't tell its a good place unless you have sit down on the benches. that's exactly where i shoot too ;)

today's shoot went very well. there were somethings that i need to focus on. next time i shoot i have to make sure the model is ready. that means no junk in her pockets no hair tie on her wrist. little stuff likes this really alter the picture! other than the normal little details today shoot went great. had a young beautiful talent girl. she was awesome.

A New Look

In Photography, shooting more pictures is not the only way to improve your skills and methods of shooting.

you must assist other photographers. Assisting is great, assisting is kinda of shadowing the photography, help out with the lights give him ideas, you can shoot some too, but i think its better just to watch and obverse.

While Assisting you should think of theses things

How is he shooting?
What angels does he shoot at?
How does he like to set up his lights?
How is that different from my set up?
What does he do differences than me?
How does he Interact to his model?
Does he interact with his Model?
What can i do to interact like that?
What could you change if i was your shoot?

Make sure you ask questions why he does this rather than that options.

theses are some basic questions that you should just think of while going in the process of assisting some one. i think it would be great if you jot all the notes on a pieces of paper. so you can later recall what he did and how he did and why he did what.

Assisting an another photographer is not copying an Photographer
Assisting is to help you build your sources for the future.
you would use the knowledge from that day and interpret for the future.

Even if you were going to copy all the steps that the photographer had use.
i grantee that the pictures will come different. why is that? because every photography as an different "eye".

Assisting a Photographer helps you take a peak of there :eye" and what they see in there view finder. !

today was a great day assisting a good friend of mine Binh Nguyen.
i gain tons of knowledge just from taking a peak in his view.

Thanks binh!!!

This photo shoot went great!
Client was great every one was fill with joy and energy~ ;)
for this shoot i had to pull out my white seamless,
when i first started i thought that having the seamless wouldn't be a problem because it was big enough. but when i came to do the shoot i had a obstacle to overcome. the
lion was huge! it was almost as big as the my seamless background.!!!

i did not expect that to happen! but being a good photography you must take every negative and react to it. so what i did was try to have most of the lion in the background and i can take the care of the rest with a little touch of photoshop.
but other than that it was another good day at the office.

thank you Binh Nguyen for coming out and assist with the photoshoot.

specs.

Location -Chua Co Lam Temple

A new winning attitude

When ingraham had a lead on Odea

Odea had a heart attack!
anytime you make a top dog cry,
you know you are a threat

Even though Ingraham lost 40 to 32
they gave a run for there money!

This is the photo of the night .

More wrestling Pictures Ingraham vs Odea

Today i had to postpone editing the lion dance promo pictures due to the fact that i had a wrestling match to shoot and had to get it edit and ready to go for my client!

....
the shoot today was at Odea a very good school. in sports they dominated in every sport there is!! they are a power house school, its a private school also a all boys school.

anyways back to the topic.
when i position my lights today instead of putting in the middle bleachers, i had place it behind the Ingraham team! i had one light on each end of the mats. and had the Alien bees at a angle pointed up and they were on my impact heavy duty stands all 13ft.
This a very different setup. but it wasn't a bad set up the pictures still turn out great.

specs..
nikon d300s with 70 to 200 2.8
Shutter at about 200 to 250
Aperture always at 2.8
iso about 400 to 640.

here are the pictures!!

Amanda and Andrew they are high school sweethearts! and they are still dating ;) i hope they last for ever.. They needed some pictures for there anniversary. Just my luck they called me.

1st Car shoot EG SI

The Holidays are over!!! noo..

ahh now its that time to get back to the studio and start working.

latly i have been doing alot of car shoots and just random shots with my iphone and carry around shots. nothing with the alien bees.

so however when i did my car shoot it was fun!!!
a car is not small let me tell you that!. when i shot the car i did my favorite light setup
3light
1ab on boom arm
1 ab on right
1 sb80 on left
all trigger via cypersyncs.
i was shooting around 3, which means the sun was coming down quick so i had to get as much ambient light as i could. and work fast.

The results are here.
check this out..
