I also did a family portrait session over the weekend!

what a busy weekend for me uh?>

The client was Clesete Lanier
she had two sons that were so cute! they love the camera they kept asking me to take pictures!

The shoot was a typical family portrait where i would come to there house and set up and just shoot with what i have and make it work ;)

i like this type of family portrait a lot more than just coming in to a studio
this way the pictures will make they feel like there more at home and
while being at home you can capture their real personality on what they like to do (for the kids, best candids type of shots are the one at home, endless opportunity)

The shoot went very well great shots!

Shooting Everett Tourament

This time when i was shooting this event
i wanted to try out the Alien bees.
and that is what i did.

who would of though that using some external flash could light up a whole gym>?

i sure didn't think it was possible.
but hey nothing is impossible if you haven't tried it.,

so here was the set up
nikon d300s
nikon 70 to 200 2.8 vr

2 alien bees 800 at full power
settings were
Alien bees at full power

d300s
shutter was from 160 to 250
mainly in 200 though

Apature was always at 2.8

ISO was from 400 to 640.

pictures turn out great!
i really like the way they turn out!

cant wait to shoot another tourament or match
theses pictures will only improve.

Shooting the Everett Wrestling Tourament

My brother had another Wrestling tournament, this means i had another job to get finsh!
this time i had use my 2 ab800 at full power! and man theses alien Bees are a charm they work and the lighting for the pictures are just perfect.

Saturday turn out to be a long day
but i sure learn alot but the pictures came out great!

i have another match coming up to shoot on thursday
and than basketball on friday!

Shooting the sealth Wrestling tourament

Saturday was the first time i shot wrestling with my new
70 to 200 2.8 vr
it was a great learning experiences. and it was one of the first time i didnt use any of my lights to shoot the pictures.

next time if they let me. i will do the strobist route. but with my alienbees instead

when i was shoting i notice a few thing
wrestling is a hard sport to shoot.
not only was the light bad. but everything moves so fast that you must be in the right place to capture that moment.
and there is no way to watch the match you have to just shoot to get that picture you want!.

i didn't get to move around the mat. i was forces to stay in one place only.

i found out that if i was to shoot a tourament i am going to need a monopod
that 70 to 200 2.8 is built like a tank. after ten hours of shooting it takes a toll on you.
